15 Horsefence Machine Upgrade

The purpose of this machine is to take individual strands of wire and form them into a type of fence called horse fence. This fence has openings that are small enough to prevent large animals from being able to climb the fence and get their feet trapped. In addition, the fence is assembled in a manner to prevent abrasions. The machine control system was upgraded from (4) Baldor Drives, (1) PMAC Motion Controller, and (1) SLC 5/05 Processor. A CompactLogix L33ERM was installed to control new (1) Kinetix Drive, (3) Powerflex 755 Drives, and the SLC IO Rack. All control was done over Ethernet/IP.The control system was setup in our shop and tested to ensure component functionality and program testing. The machine upgrade was performed in the field.
